Filtration: The mixture passes through the filter media, while the solids are retained on the surface of the filter plates. The liquid, or filtrate, flows through the filter media and exits the press.

Washing: Once the filtration is complete, the filter cake (accumulated solids) on the filter plates can be washed with a suitable solvent or rinse liquid to ensure maximum product recovery.

Discharging: After washing, the filter cake is discharged from the filter press by releasing the clamping mechanism and removing the plates.
